Situational Evaluation: Through questionnaires, interviews and on-site evaluations, Dr. Armerding will assess the effectiveness of governance, management and service practices of hospitals, clinics and community health programs. Based upon his findings, recommendations will be provided to the requesting hospital board or administration with proposals for follow-up activities by the consultant.

Strategic Planning: Hospital leaders needing to evaluate the mission and strategic goals of their institution will be led through an exercise to establish the core purpose and values for which they are organized, perform a SWOT analysis, and set goals that are challenging and attainable. Recommendations will be offered regarding the implementation of strategic goals.

Leadership and Management Training: Courses are designed to meet the needs of hospital leaders and managers functioning in environments where human and financial resources are limited. The instructor works alongside the students to assist them as they integrate the concepts and processes they have been taught into their day-to-day activities.

Succession Planning: Health care organizations or community health programs facing the resignation or retirement of senior leaders will be assisted in determining the skill sets required for new leadership, opportunities for organizational change during leadership transitions, and methods to be followed in securing a new leader.

Governance: The governance structure and practices of your hospital will be analyzed to determine their appropriateness and effectiveness. Recommendations will be made to modify governance structures and practices so as to make them more effective and efficient. Dr. Armerding can also provide assistance in implementing recommended changes by developing or amending governance documents and providing guidelines, programs, and board training.

Management: The management structure and practices of your hospital will be analyzed to determine their appropriateness and effectiveness. Recommendations will be made to modify management structures and practices so as to make them more effective and efficient. Dr. Armerding can also provide assistance in implementing recommended changes by developing or amending organizational charts, assisting the development of policies & procedures, and with targeted management training.

Development: Today, many faith-based medical activities are challenged to expand both their services and their ability to raise funds. How is this to be done without compromising the organization’s mission? Dr. Armerding will perform a situational analysis relative to your organization’s needs, and then provide advice and assistance with program development, community education, public relations, marketing, fund raising and planning for service and facilities expansion.
